The Embassy announced in a formal statement on social media site X that it has brought up the matter with Iranian authorities and urged them to act quickly to find the missing nationals and ensure their safety. The message added, "We are also regularly updating the family members of the Embassy's efforts."

According to the Embassy's statement: "Family members of three Indian citizens have informed the Embassy of India that their relatives are missing after having traveled to Iran. The Embassy has strongly taken up this matter with the Iranian authorities and requested that the missing Indians should be urgently traced and their safety ensured."
