Obstacles Hinder Humanitarian Aid Deliveries

The United Nations humanitarian office, known as OCHA, has expressed concern over the scale and intensity of ground operations and fighting in Gaza. These challenges, coupled with blocked roads, fuel shortages, and telecommunications blackouts, are severely impeding the delivery of humanitarian aid to those in need.

Hamas Official Calls for Permanent Ceasefire

In a press conference, Hamas official Osama Hamdan emphasized the group's desire for a "complete and final cessation of aggression" against the people of Gaza. He rejected the idea of a partial or temporary ceasefire and reiterated that the release of hostages held in Gaza would only occur after a permanent ceasefire is implemented.

Death of American-Canadian-Israeli Hostage Confirmed

The hard-hit Israeli kibbutz of Nir Oz has announced the death of Judith Weinstein, an American-Canadian-Israeli woman who was believed to be held hostage in Gaza. Her husband, Gad Haggai, was previously declared dead. The couple was taken during a Hamas militant attack on Oct. 7, which resulted in the deaths of approximately 1,200 people and the kidnapping of 240 others.

UN Peacekeeper Injured in Lebanon

A United Nations peacekeeper was injured when a group of young men attacked a patrol in south Lebanon. The incident occurred in the village of Taybeh, and a vehicle was also damaged. Such attacks are condemned as violations of Resolution 1701 and Lebanese law.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Vows Revenge for General's Death

Thousands of people attended a funeral in Iran for Gen. Seyed Razi Mousavi, a high-ranking general killed in a suspected Israeli airstrike in Syria. The head of the Revolutionary Guard, Gen. Hossein Salami, vowed revenge, stating that the only fitting response would be "the removal of Israel from the face of existence."

Israel Arrests Suspected Hamas Financiers

The Israeli military conducted an operation across multiple areas of the West Bank, arresting 21 Palestinians accused of helping finance Hamas. The suspects allegedly provided financial services to Hamas through digital currency and cash. During the operation, Israeli aircraft struck militants in Jenin who fired on troops, and forces opened fire on Palestinians throwing firebombs.
