Things to know about Baltimore riots in US
Washington, April 29: Vigil was tightened in and around Baltimore city in Maryland, the US, after riots erupted in the city following the death of 25-year-old local youth Freddie Gray, who was arrested by the city's police. He died a week later after suffering severe spinal cord injury.

Riot in Baltimore: What to know
- Freddie Gray, a native of Baltimore, known for drugs, was arrested by police on April 12 on a weapons charge.
- He suffered a severe spinal cord injury that led to his death a week later on April 19.
- It's unknown what caused the spinal cord injury that led to his death
- Violence and looting erupted in Baltimore on April 20 after the funeral of African-American man Freddie Gray.
- An investigation has been ordered in the case.
- At least 15 officers have been injured, six of them seriously. More than two dozen people were arrested.
- Curfew has been clamped in the area to prevent any untoward incident.
- Over 3,000 police from Maryland, New Jersey and the District of Columbia, and National Guard members in helmets, took up posts.
