Tehran Producer Dana Eden Found Dead During Greece Shoot As Season 4 Production Continues

The executive producer of the acclaimed spy drama Tehran has been discovered dead in a hotel room in Athens, Greek police confirmed. Dana Eden, 52, was in Greece for work connected to the fourth season of the series when she was found on Sunday. Authorities opened an investigation after a family member reported being unable to contact her repeatedly.

Police said Eden was located inside her hotel accommodation following concerns raised by relatives. Early findings have not established a definitive medical cause of death, though investigators stated the case is currently being treated as a suspected suicide based on available evidence and witness testimonies. Officials have not released further details while enquiries continue.

Production company rejects speculation

International production company Donna and Shula Productions issued a statement addressing the circumstances and public discussion surrounding her death.

"This is a moment of great sorrow for the family, friends, and colleagues," the statement read.

"The production company wishes to clarify that rumours regarding a criminal or nationalistic-related death are not true and are unfounded."

The company also appealed to media organisations and the public to avoid sharing unverified claims.

Hit series and filming in Greece

Eden had travelled to Greece as filming preparations were underway for the upcoming season of Tehran. The internationally popular thriller streams on Apple TV and features performances by Niv Sultan, Hugh Laurie and Shaun Toub. The series has gained a large global audience for its espionage storyline and cross border political themes.
