Taliban militants kill 20 Afghan police officers in attack
Kabul, June 13: At least 20 police officers were killed and 10 injured in Afghanistan's Helmand province, media reported on Saturday.
According to media reports, police officers have been killed after militants ambushed checkpoints in Musa Qala district in the province.

"The ambushes late Friday hit checkpoints in the Musa Qala district, long a Taliban stronghold," Mohammad Ismail Hotak, the head of the province's joint coordination of police and military operations was quoted as saying.
The Taliban claimed responsibility for attacks.
Taliban militants have been targeting vulnerable police checkpoints across the country since launching their summer offensive in April.
Last month, a Taliban attack in Helmand's Naw Zad district killed at least 19 police officers.
