Syria: 40 people killed in missile attack in Damascus
Beirut, Oct 30: At least 40 people were killed and over 100 injured in missile attack in Syrian town of Damascus, media reported on Friday.
"The missiles were fired by the Syrian government forces into a market place in a town near Damascus," said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
"At least 12 missiles were fired by the government forces at Douma," added the statement issued by the monitor.
Douma, a town near Damascus has suffered intense bombardment in recent months.
Many of Douma's residents have fled the four-year-old conflict, moving to nearby rural areas.

The Islamic State (ISIS) has taken control of huge swathes of territory across northern and eastern Syria, as well as neighbouring Iraq. Its many foreign fighters in Syria are now involved in a "war within a war".
