Sudiksha Konanki’s Clothes Found On Lounge Chair At Dominican Republic Beach Amid Disappearance
The search for Sudiksha Konanki, a University of Pittsburgh student who disappeared while on spring break in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, has taken a heartbreaking turn. Clothing believed to belong to the 22-year-old was discovered on a lounge chair at the beach where she was last seen.
Photos obtained by CDN show a white netted sarong draped over the chair and a pair of sand-covered beige flip-flops placed nearby. Authorities say the clothes closely match what Konanki was seen wearing in surveillance footage on the night she vanished. The items appear undisturbed, leading investigators to believe she may have removed them before entering the ocean in a brown bikini. Their primary theory is that she drowned, but they have not ruled out the possibility of foul play.

One person of interest in the case is Joshua Riibe, a senior at Minnesota's St. Cloud State University. According to WTAE, Riibe's parents have expressed concerns about how he has been treated, stating that he was detained under irregular conditions and questioned extensively without official translators or legal counsel until March 12.
Authorities, including the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office in Virginia, where Konanki is from, have confirmed that Riibe is a person of interest but not a suspect at this time. Meanwhile, search efforts continue into the eighth day, with the FBI working alongside Dominican authorities to leave no stone unturned.
Konanki is described as 5'3" with black hair and brown eyes. Her loved ones remain desperate for answers, hoping for any sign of what happened to her that fateful night.
