Regional Leaders Laud PM Modi's Election Win, Eye Stronger Ties

In a significant display of international camaraderie, leaders from Sri Lanka, Nepal, Mauritius, the Maldives, and Bhutan have extended their congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi following the BJP-led NDA coalition's triumph in the general elections. This victory marks a momentous occasion as it signifies the third consecutive term for the alliance under Modi's leadership.

PM Modis Win Praised by Neighbors

Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe expressed his warmest felicitations towards the BJP-led NDA, highlighting the Indian populace's trust in their progress and prosperity initiatives under Modi's guidance. Wickremesinghe emphasized Sri Lanka's eagerness to further bolster its partnership with India, reflecting on the close neighborly ties between the two nations.

Nepal's Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda also conveyed his congratulations to Modi, noting the successful completion of what is considered the world's largest democratic exercise. Prachanda's message underscored the significance of this electoral success and its implications for continued cooperation between India and Nepal.

From Mauritius, Prime Minister Pravind Kumar Jugnauth lauded Modi for securing a historic third term. Jugnauth's message underscored the anticipated progress and achievements under Modi's leadership, reaffirming the special relationship shared between Mauritius and India.

Dr. Mohamed Muizzu, President of the Maldives, joined in congratulating Modi and expressed his anticipation for advancing bilateral relations. Muizzu's tenure has been marked by a focus on strengthening ties with India, despite previous tensions under a pro-China leadership.

Bhutanese Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay also extended his best wishes to Modi and the NDA for their historic win. Tobgay highlighted his personal connection with Modi and expressed eagerness to work closely with India to enhance bilateral relations further.

The BJP emerged as the single largest party in the Lok Sabha, leading or winning in 240 seats out of 543. With the support of key allies such as TDP and JDU in Andhra Pradesh and Bihar respectively, the NDA was on course to surpass the 272-majority mark. This electoral victory not only consolidates Modi's position domestically but also signals a strong endorsement of his leadership on the international stage.

The collective congratulations from neighboring countries' leaders underscore a shared interest in maintaining and strengthening diplomatic ties with India. These messages reflect an optimistic outlook towards collaboration in pursuit of mutual prosperity and stability in the region.
