Pilots behind Air France tragedy
London, Oct 14: Throwing light on grievous aviation fallacy and pilot negligence, recent reports, collected from the remains of the 2009 Air France that crashed into the Atlantic Ocean, suggested that two of the three pilots onboard were asleep minutes before the plane crashed into the sea off Brazil in 2009, killing all 228 people onboard.

Media sources reveal horrific details of the last few minutes of Flight 447, which emerged in a recent investigation of the tragedy. As per recorded conversations between 37-year-old David Robert, Pierre-Cedric Bonin, 32, and Marc Dubois, the 58-year-old captain of the plane, two of them (also the experienced of the lot) were asleep when the plane got into difficulty in the Tropical storm. To add to it, the plane was being controlled by a junior who made a wrong move of raising the nose of the plane instead of lowering it.

chief investigator Alain Bouillard was quoted as saying,"If the captain had stayed in position through the Inter-tropical Convergence Zone, it would have delayed his sleep by no more than 15 minutes, and because of his experience, maybe the story would have ended differently." He further added,"But I do not believe it was fatigue that caused him to leave. It was more like customary behaviour, part of the piloting culture within Air France."

Revealing the timeline, the officer said that the plane was suffering from a loss of lift or a "stall" and its airspeed sensors had malfunctioned. Mr Dubois entered the cockpit, one minute and 38 seconds after the pivot tubes malfunctioned, but the damage was done and could not be reversed.

Blackbox conversations reveal the conversation:

Mr Robert said: "F***, we're going to crash! It's not true! But what's happening?"

Soon after, either Mr Robert or Mr Bonin are heard to say, "F***, we're dead"

Just before the plane plunged into the Atlantic.

It took about two years to retrieve the bodies and essential records from the sea. Meanwhile, Air France denied that its pilots were inefficient. Both Air France and Air Bus are now facing manslaughter charges.
