'She Will Be Back In Bangladesh Once...': Sheikh Hasina's Son Does Volte-Face; Suspects Pak Hand In Coup
Sajeeb Wazed Joy, the son of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, recently made crucial statements regarding his mother's potential return to Bangladesh amid the ongoing political unrest.
Initially, Joy had mentioned that Hasina would not return to the country, but the situation has since evolved due to "continuous attacks on leaders and party workers of the Awami League."

He stated, "We are going to do whatever it takes to keep our people safe; we are not going to leave them alone."
Joy said that the Awami League, being the largest and oldest political party in Bangladesh, has a responsibility to its people and cannot abandon them.
He added, "She will definitely return to Bangladesh once democracy is restored." However, it remains undecided whether Hasina will return as a "retired or active" politician.
Regarding the political future of himself and his sister, Saima Wazed, Joy remained non-committal but affirmed his dedication to "saving Bangladesh and protecting the Awami League."
He also expressed hope that Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, who recently returned to Dhaka to lead an interim government, would "stay true to his word" and move forward without allowing past mistakes to influence the future.
Additionally, Joy pointed to Pakistan's intelligence agency, ISI, accusing it of fueling the unrest in Bangladesh.
He stated, "I am quite certain given the circumstantial evidence; I suspect Pakistan ISI's involvement. The attacks and protests were very coordinated, meticulously planned, and intentional efforts to keep inflaming the situation through social media."
