Second earthquake hits Indonesia, rescue ops hampered

Lombok, Aug 7: A second strong quake, measuring 5.2, hit the Lombok island region in Indonesia, hampering rebuilding and evacuation efforts on Tuesday.

According to reports, the aftershocks rocked the region as the Indonesia's National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) said it expected the death toll to rise once the rubble of more than 13,000 houses was cleared away.

Indonesias National Disaster Management Authority, at least 98 people have lost their lives, with more than 200 injured and thousands displaced. In addition, thousands of houses have been damaged, and according to news reports around 10,000 have been evacuated from the island.
