Sean Spicer resigns as White House press secretary
He resigns from the post a day short of eight months into the job.
Washington, July 21: White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer resigned on Friday, telling President Donald Trump that he vehemently disagreed with the appointment of New York financier Anthony Scaramucci as communications director.

Trump offered Scaramucci the job at 10 am. The President requested that Spicer stay on, but Spicer told Trump that he believed the appointment was a major mistake, according to a person with direct knowledge of the exchange, The New York Times reported.
Before his appointment as White House Press Secretary, Spicer was communications director of the Republican National Committee from 2011 to 2017, and its chief strategist from 2015 to 2017.
He resigns from the post a day short of eight months into the job.
