Saudi High-Level Delegation Visits Pakistan

During the visit from April 15 to 16, the delegation is expected to hold meetings with the President, the Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister, and other counterpart Ministers, as well as the Chief of Army Staff and the Apex Committee of the Special Investment Facilitation Center (SIFC).

The purpose of the visit is to provide positive momentum to enhanced bilateral cooperation and mutually rewarding economic partnership.

The visit aims to expedite the follow-up on the understanding reached between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman during their recent meeting in Makkah to enhance bilateral economic cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Both sides agreed to expedite work on Saudi Arabia's initial investment of USD 5 billion in Pakistan, as reported by Voice Of America.

The talks with the Saudi delegation are scheduled to follow up on the understanding reached during Prime Minister Sharif's meeting with the Saudi crown prince on April 7.

The visit comes amid Pakistan's efforts to seek Saudi investments to strengthen its current account deficit and meet foreign financing requirements. Middle East tensions, particularly escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, are expected to be key topics of discussion during the meetings between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, as per US-based media outlet.

Pakistan expressed deep concern over the developments in the Middle East and called for restraint and de-escalation among all parties involved. This visit underscores the importance of bilateral economic cooperation and signals ongoing efforts to strengthen ties between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
