Russian transport plane crashes in Syria, 32 dead
A Russian plane with 32 people on board crashed during landing at Hmeymim air base in Syria. All the 32 persons were killed in the crash, said reports. The plane is said to have crashed when it was about 500 meters short of the runway.

Out of the 32 people, 26 were passengers and six were the crew. The crashed aircraft was Russia's Antonov-26 transport plane.
"On March 6, Russia's Antonov-26 transport plane crashed at about 15:00 Moscow time as it was about to land at Hmeymim airdrome. According to preliminary data, there were 26 passengers and six crew members on board. Nobody survived," reports quoted Russian Defence ministry statement as saying.
Russian media reported that the crash may have been caused by a technical fault.
The crash took place near the Syrian coastal city of Latakia
