Russia Tags Zelensky's US Visit 'Complete Failure'; Says He Is 'Obsessed With War'
Russia has criticised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's recent visit to the United States, labelling it a "complete failure." According to AFP, Russia accused Zelensky of being fixated on perpetuating the conflict in the region. The visit took place on February 28, 2025, in Washington.
The Russian foreign ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova stated that Zelensky's trip was a political and diplomatic setback for Kyiv. She referred to him as the leader of a "neo-Nazi regime" and emphasised that Russia's objectives in Ukraine remain unchanged despite his visit.

Russia's Unwavering Goals
Zakharova reiterated Russia's steadfast goals concerning Ukraine. She mentioned that Russia continues to aim for the demilitarisation and denazification of Ukraine. Additionally, she highlighted the importance of recognising the current realities on the ground as part of their objectives.
During an interview with Bret Baier for FOX News Channel's Special Report, President Zelenskyy paused for reflection. The interview was taped in Washington on February 28, 2025, capturing a moment of contemplation amid ongoing tensions.
Despite these criticisms from Russia, Zelensky's visit to Washington was significant in terms of international diplomacy. It underscored Ukraine's efforts to garner support from global allies amidst ongoing conflicts with Russia.
The situation remains tense as both nations hold firm to their respective positions. While Ukraine seeks international backing, Russia maintains its focus on achieving its stated goals within the region.
