Russia May Attack THIS European Country After Ukraine

Three years have passed since the conflict between Russia and Ukraine began, resulting in numerous casualties and extensive property damage. The Russian government, led by Vladimir Putin, expressed dissatisfaction with European countries for their support of Ukraine. Initially, Russia anticipated a swift victory over Ukraine. However, with backing from European nations, Ukraine has managed to resist Russian advances.

Germany is now concerned about a potential Russian attack in the coming years. To prepare, Germany has initiated the construction of bunkers and tunnels. Reports suggest that Russia might target Germany within four years. Previously, Ralf Teschner, head of Germany's security department, stated that Germany was not under threat and unlikely to face war soon.

Germany's Defence Preparations

General Carsten Breuer, Germany's Chief of Defense, mentioned to BBC that they are manufacturing hundreds of tanks annually. These tanks will be ready if NATO countries face an attack by 2029. Alongside tank production, Germany is prioritising the construction of new bunkers. This initiative demands both time and financial resources.

Projects involving underground shelters at metro stations, car parks, basements, and public shelters are progressing rapidly. Tesler highlighted that constructing bunkers and secure buildings for one million people requires collective effort. The agency plans to release a detailed plan soon.

Existing Shelter Infrastructure

Germany currently possesses around 2,000 bunkers dating back to the Cold War era. However, only about 600 are operational today. Repairing these structures will incur substantial costs. Presently, Germany can provide shelter for just 480,000 individuals.

In contrast to Germany's limited capacity, Finland boasts over 50,000 protection rooms capable of accommodating 4.8 million people. This stark difference highlights the need for Germany to enhance its protective infrastructure significantly.

Tesler also emphasised the importance of securing existing buildings due to the lengthy process involved in new construction projects. Strengthening old structures could offer quicker solutions while new facilities are being developed.
