Russia air strikes on Syria: 300 ISIS militants killed at 60 targets
Moscow, Oct 10: At least 300 Islamic State (ISIS) militants killed in air strikes carried out by Russian air force on Syria over the past 24 hours, media reported.
It was the first intense air strikes carried out by Russian air force since it first launched strikes on Syria 10 days ago.

Earlier Russian forces used to hit around 10 targets on daily basis. They have increased the volume of attacks to prevent militants from re-grouping and dispersing in populated areas.
Äir force jets used KAB-500 precision guided bombs to destroy a headquarters of the Liwa al-Haqq militant group in Syria's Raqqa province," said a statement issued by the defence ministry.
The ministry also said it destroyed an ISIS base and munitions storage set up in a former prison near Aleppo, killing another 100 militants.
A monitoring group said on Friday Aleppo had seen intensified fighting as Islamic State seized villages close to the city from rival insurgents.
ISIS training sites in the Latakia and Idlib provinces are also being targeted by the Russian air force.
"SU-34, SU-24M and SU-25CM fighter jets carried out 67 sorties over the past 24 hours, "added the statement issued by the ministry.
