‘Running Out of Lives’: Eric Trump Stunned by Second Assassination Attempt on Donald Trump
Eric Trump: "My Father is Running Out of Lives"
Family members of Donald Trump, including his son Eric Trump, have expressed shock and frustration following a second apparent assassination attempt on the former US President at his Florida golf course. Eric Trump voiced his concerns in an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News, saying, "My father is running out of lives here," and questioning how many more assassination attempts might target the Republican nominee ahead of the 2024 US Presidential Elections.

The comments came after Secret Service agents fired shots at a suspect who was found hiding in the bushes near Trump International Golf Course in West Palm Beach, Florida, armed with an AK-47-style rifle.
Assassination Attempt Thwarted by Secret Service
The latest incident occurred on September 15, 2024, when Secret Service agents spotted Ryan Routh, armed with a rifle and a GoPro camera, attempting to approach Donald Trump as he golfed. The suspect was just a few hundred yards from the former president when agents opened fire, causing Routh to flee the scene. He was later arrested, and authorities recovered his weapon and other equipment.
This marks the second assassination attempt on Trump this year, following a previous incident on July 14, 2024, during a campaign rally in Pennsylvania, when an assailant opened fire on the former president. Trump survived both attempts without injury, but the back-to-back incidents have raised concerns about his security leading up to the election.
Eric Trump Criticises Security Failures
In the aftermath of the second attempt, Eric Trump voiced his frustration with the security measures in place, stating, "How many more rifles are going to come within assassination distance of my father?" He emphasised the serious lapses in the Secret Service, calling the situation a "failure," despite the billions of dollars spent on protecting the former president.
Eric had also spoken out after the first assassination attempt in Pennsylvania, stating that it "should never have been allowed to happen" and criticising the agencies responsible for his father's protection. "As his son, I'm not very happy about it. In the west, you can't have leaders assassinated," he said, reiterating his disappointment with the security failures.
Tensions High Ahead of 2024 Presidential Election
The recent assassination attempts come at a pivotal moment in the 2024 US presidential race, with Donald Trump campaigning aggressively as the Republican nominee. The attempts on his life have heightened security concerns and drawn attention to the growing risks for political figures as election day approaches.
Trump, however, remains undeterred. According to Eric, his father is "doing great" and continues to campaign despite the threats. "Those 48 hours could have been very different," Eric said, highlighting the close call but expressing relief that the former president remains unharmed.
