Ron DeSantis To Launch 2024 US Presidential Bid With Elon Musk On Twitter

As former US president Donald Trump is polling high to be Republican party's next nominee in the elections, Florida governor Ron DeSantis is set to announce his bid for the top most with Twitter owner Elon Musk, according to reports.

In a strategic move to garner support from influential figures on the right, Governor Ron DeSantis has chosen Twitter Spaces, the audio chat feature of the social media platform, as the venue to make a significant announcement. The event, moderated by tech entrepreneur and DeSantis supporter David Sacks, will take place on Wednesday. At the same time, he will file a document with the Federal Election Commission declaring his candidacy.

By engaging in a discussion with Elon Musk, a well-known entrepreneur with a devoted fanbase, DeSantis aims to secure the loyalty of right-wing influencers and strengthen his position in the race for the 2024 GOP nomination, potentially surpassing former President Donald Trump.

Accompanying the announcement will be the release of a launch video, and DeSantis plans to kickstart visits to early primary states following Memorial Day. This strategic partnership with Musk has the potential to provide a substantial boost to DeSantis' campaign, allowing him to tap into Musk's massive following and expand his reach.

Coinciding with this announcement, a retreat for fundraisers supporting DeSantis will be held in Miami, specifically at the Four Seasons hotel. Bundlers attending the event will receive campaign briefings and work towards raising funds to support DeSantis' bid for the presidency in 2024, as reported by NBC.

The discussions between the DeSantis team and Elon Musk have been ongoing for several weeks, during which Musk reportedly expressed skepticism about former President Donald Trump's chances of reclaiming the White House. This collaboration with Musk further solidifies DeSantis' ambitions and highlights his strategic approach to securing influential endorsements and financial support for his presidential aspirations.
