Releasing Mumbai attack mastermind Lakhvi is a set back for anti terror war, says Israel
New Delhi: Israel's Ambassador to India expressed disappointment at the release of 2008 Mumbai terror attack mastermind Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi.
"Israel is surprised and disappointed by release of Lakhvi, mastermind of 26-11 Mumbai attacks in which as part of the horrific attack also Israeli nationals and a Jewish Center - the Nariman House - were targeted," tweeted Israel's Ambassador to India Daniel Carmon.
He also termed his release a "setback for the international efforts in the war against terror in which India and Israel are close partners".
"This release is a setback for the international efforts in the war against terror in which India and Israel are close partners," he further said.India on Friday lodged its strong concerns with Pakistan on the release of Lakhvi. French President Francois Hollande also termed his release "deeply shocking".

Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi was released overnight from Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi without any announcement by the jail authorities or the Jamaat-ud Dawa (JuD), the organisation that Lakhvi was affiliated with, media reported on Friday.
