According to DownDetector, a site that tracks user-reported outages, many encountered an "internal server error." This error prevented them from using Reddit effectively.

DownDetector's data revealed that 55% of users faced problems with the Reddit app, while 35% struggled with the website. A smaller group, about 10%, reported server-related issues. These statistics highlight the widespread nature of the outage across different access points.

The number of reported outages saw a notable decrease within half an hour. Initially, 3,298 users reported issues, but this number dropped to 1,723 as users regained access to Reddit. This reduction suggests that the platform's technical team may have addressed some underlying problems quickly.

An "Internal Server Error" typically arises when a server cannot process a request due to overload or software glitches. Such errors are often linked to server misconfigurations or failures in third-party services that Reddit depends on. These issues usually originate from Reddit's side rather than any user's device.

During this outage period, DownDetector displayed a sharp increase in reports related to Reddit. The sudden spike indicated a widespread issue affecting many users simultaneously. However, as time progressed, fewer users continued to report problems.
