Rajasthan's Rajvavardhan Rathore Meets UAE Minister to Attract Investments at Summit

Industry and Commerce Minister Rajvavardhan Rathore recently engaged with Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, the UAE's Minister of State for Foreign Trade, during the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024 in Dubai. The meeting aimed to attract investors to Rajasthan. Rathore's delegation also interacted with prominent UAE companies and members of the UAE-India Business Council.

Rajasthan Minister Rathore Meets UAE Official

The delegation extended an invitation to UAE-based business groups to invest in Rajasthan. Rathore highlighted the government's commitment to improving the business environment by hosting the investment summit early in its tenure. "The political will of the government to alleviate the business environment is amply demonstrated by the decision to host the investment summit in the very first year of the government’s tenure," he stated.

Investment Opportunities and Policy Reforms

Rathore mentioned that a comprehensive policy overhaul is underway, with new policies set to launch soon. These changes aim to facilitate business operations at minimal costs and with ease. The delegation engaged in discussions with companies from sectors like logistics, real estate, petrochemicals, financial services, health, renewable energy, AI filmmaking, solar and steel manufacturing, and healthcare.

Meetings included interactions with business groups linked to the UAE chapter of the UAE-India Business Council (UIBC). Companies such as Kef Holdings, DP World, Lulu Financial Holdings, Emirates NBD, Sharaf Group, and EFS Facilities were part of these discussions. The focus was on exploring business opportunities in Rajasthan and participating in the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit scheduled for December 9-11 in Jaipur.

Future Engagements and Support

Following their UAE visit, the delegation plans to travel to Qatar. Satish Kumar Sivan, Consul General of India in Dubai, encouraged UAE-based businesses and trade bodies to consider investing in Rajasthan. "The consulate office in Dubai will be more than willing to put the interested investors in touch with the officials in Rajasthan and help facilitate their investment into the state," he assured.

The efforts aim to strengthen economic ties between India and the UAE while promoting Rajasthan as a favourable investment destination. The summit serves as a platform for showcasing opportunities across various sectors and fostering international collaborations.
