PTI Chairman Claims President to Invite Party to Form Government

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan expressed confidence that President Arif Alvi will invite their party to form the government as they have secured a majority in the National Assembly.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan asserted on Saturday that President Arif Alvi would invite his party to form the government as they had secured a majority in the National Assembly. To form a government, a party must secure 133 seats out of 265 in the National Assembly. The election for one seat was postponed due to the unfortunate demise of a candidate. Overall, a simple majority requires 169 seats out of the total 336 seats, including reserved slots for women and minorities.

Gohar Khan's Claims

Gohar Khan confidently stated that President Alvi would invite PTI to form the government since they had obtained a majority in the National Assembly. He further claimed that PTI had won 170 seats in the National Assembly, although official results indicate that the party has secured 100 seats. It is worth noting that President Alvi was a senior member of PTI before Imran Khan appointed him as the country's President in 2018.

PTI's Stance on Forming a Government

Gohar Khan emphasized that PTI has no quarrels with anyone and their intention is to move forward. He expressed their determination to proceed and form a government in accordance with the Constitution and the law. Despite the challenges, including the imprisonment of their founding chairman, Imran Khan, and the disqualification of some candidates from using the party symbol, PTI remains committed to forming a desired government.

Concerns and Demands

Gohar Khan raised concerns about the economy's ability to withstand the suppression of people's voices and the importance of forming a desired government. He stressed that no obstacles should be created for PTI, and the results should be announced as soon as possible. He also highlighted that their independent candidates were in contact with them and remained loyal to the party. PTI's plan is to establish an independent government and proceed with intra-party elections within 15 days after completing the necessary processes.

Addressing Allegations and Protests

Gohar Khan dismissed the cases against PTI's founder as fake and asserted that they would soon make decisions regarding the reserved seats and potential alliances with other parties. He also announced peaceful protests in constituencies where results were halted, emphasizing the right to protest but stressing the importance of maintaining peace. Additionally, he shared that PTI secured 39 out of 35 NA seats from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and would decide on the chief minister's post after consultations in the coming days. PTI also expressed confidence in forming a government in Punjab.

Imran Khan's Message

Meanwhile, Imran Khan, the 71-year-old cricketer-turned-politician and founding chairman of PTI, released an AI-generated audio-video message on Saturday, claiming victory in the general elections. He expressed gratitude to the people for voting for PTI and urged them to ensure that the sanctity of their votes was not compromised by external influences.

As Pakistan awaits the final results of the general election amidst allegations of rigging, sporadic violence, and a nationwide mobile phone shutdown, PTI remains steadfast in its claim to have secured a majority in the National Assembly. Gohar Khan's statements reflect the party's determination to form a government and address the concerns of the people. The coming days will be crucial in determining the political landscape of Pakistan and the formation of a new government.
