According to Tricia McLaughlin, spokesperson for Ramaswamy's campaign, no one was inside the campaign vehicle at the time it was hit and there were no injuries resulting from this event. McLaughlin also mentioned that a police report has been filed regarding this matter.

"Things clearly escalated," said McLaughlin. Despite this unsettling occurrence, she noted that Ramaswamy remained composed throughout the situation. "Ramaswamy is used to dealing with protesters and handled it very calmly," she added. This level-headedness seemed to stand out against the general unease experienced by others present during the incident.

A request for comment left with Grinnell’s police chief did not receive an immediate response on Thursday afternoon.
