Pro-Khalistan Slogans Raised In Front Of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau; Criticised

On the occasion of Khalsa Day, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau addressed hundreds of Sikhs in the capital Toronto on Monday, but shockingly some miscreants raised pro-Khalistan slogans in front of the PM. His rival Conservative Party's Pierre Poilievre and Jagmeet Singh of the New Democratic Party (NDP) were also present at the stage.

A video of the incident is doing round the internet, which shows, Trudeau left with an embarrassed smile after he delivered his speech and pro-Khalistani chants were coined.

Pro-Khalistan Slogans Raised

In his speech, Justine Trudeau said, "We have to remember and get reminded on days such as this and every day, that Sikh values are Canadian values. Truth, justice, openness, compassion, service, human rights. These are the values at the heart of Sikhism. These are the values of the heart of Sikh Canadian communities. But they're also values at the heart of all Canadians."

Soon after the Canadian Prime Minister's speech, Khalistan Zindabad slogans filled the air. As respect, Justin Trudeau was also gifted a sword by the Sikh leaders who organized the programme.

The video further shows Conservative Party leader Pierre Poilievre addressing the people. He said, "To the nearly 800,000 Canadians of Sikh heritage across this country, we will always be there to protect your rights and your freedoms, and we will always defend your community against hatred and discrimination".

He also promised more security at community centres and gurudwaras across the country.

"Your right to practise your religion freely and without intimidation is exactly that - a fundamental right, guaranteed in the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, that we will always stand up and defend you for," he added.

However, pro-Khalistan chants in front of Justin Trudeau are not liked by people in India and the Canadian Prime Minister is facing the heat on the internet.
