PM Narendra Modi may address NRIs at Madison Square Garden in Sept

Washington, July 25: In what could be the biggest Indian political event in United States, news reports suggest that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi may address close to 20,000 NRIs in New York's Madison Square Garden while on his trip to US in September.

The indoor stadium which has hosted many political conventions and music concerts may host the biggest NRI gathering if he proposal is accepted.

Modi' supporters in US are in talks with the stadium executives to rent the venue for the event. Previously Indian PMs like Manmohan Singh and Atal Bihari Vajpayee who have visited the US were subjected to community receptions in ball rooms of five star hotels.

Modi's visit to United States has been in the news ever since US President Barack Obama invited him to Washington for talks. Modi has a huge fan following in US with including many Gujaratis and businessmen from India.

Reports also suggest that the event maybe live streamed across the world.
