PM Narendra Modi calls up David Cameron to congratulate him on poll win
New Delhi, May 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday congratulated his UK counterpart David Cameron on his "impressive" electoral victory and said he looks forward to working together to further enhance cooperation on a wide range of issues.
"I spoke to PM David Cameron and congratulated him on his victory and conveyed my good wishes to him and his entire team," Modi tweeted. [David Cameron supports 'Make in India'; offers help to make fighter jets]
He said he told Cameron that "such an impressive win while being the incumbent PM makes his victory even more special".
Cameron got re-elected last week.
"We both look forward to working together to further enhance co-operation between India and UK on a wide range of issues," Modi added.
