PM Modi's Security Beefed Up In US After Spate Of Attacks On Donald Trump
As Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarks on his three-day visit to the United States, starting with a stop in Delaware on Saturday, both New Delhi and Washington have been working closely on enhanced security arrangements due to heightened concerns.
Security discussions between Indian and American officials have been ongoing over the past two weeks, particularly in light of the two recent assassination attempts on former US President Donald Trump, reported the Indian Express.

According to sources, the US Secret Service has implemented "enhanced" security measures at all venues in Delaware and New York where PM Modi will be present. These precautions have been taken not only because of general security threats but also due to potential risks posed by pro-Khalistan elements in the US.
Upon his arrival in the US, Modi is set to meet President Joe Biden before both leaders proceed to the Quad Leaders' Summit, which will also include Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
The summit will take place at Archmere Academy in Delaware, Biden's former high school. This location holds personal significance for the US President, as he has often spoken about how the priests at Archmere shaped his upbringing, and it is also where he learned to overcome his stutter and played football.
To ensure the safety of the summit, the area around Archmere Academy is being tightly secured, with precautions in place to prevent any intruders or objects from posing a risk. The event will not have a public audience, and students will not be present. Both the US Secret Service and India's Special Protection Group (SPG) are actively coordinating Modi's security.
In New York, where PM Modi will address the Indian diaspora on September 22, similar precautions are being taken. The event is set to be held at the Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, Nassau County, which is expected to host around 20,000 attendees.
The Nassau County police, experienced in large-scale event management, especially after hosting the India-Pakistan T20 World Cup match earlier this year, will assist the US Secret Service in securing the venue and screening the crowd to prevent any potential disruptions.
Security will also be tight in New York City on September 23, when Modi addresses the "Summit of the Future" at the United Nations General Assembly.
The UNGA is held annually around this time, and it is a high-security event with many world leaders in attendance.
Modi is scheduled to return to India on September 24.
