PM Modi's Mega New York Event: More Than 24,000 Indian-Americans To Join
Next month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to address a massive community event in Uniondale, Long Island, New York, where more than 24,000 members of the Indian diaspora have already registered to attend.
The event, titled 'Modi & US: Progress Together,' will take place on September 22 at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum, a venue with a seating capacity of 15,000.

The Indo-American Community of USA (IACU) announced on Tuesday that registrations for the event have poured in from across the United States, with attendees representing at least 42 states, as reported by PTI. The response has been especially strong from the tri-state area. The registrations have come through 590 community organizations, all of which have signed up as 'Welcome Partners.'
A key organizer emphasized their commitment to ensuring as many people as possible can participate in this historic gathering. Efforts are underway to expand seating arrangements and coordinate with Welcome Partners to prioritize final seat allocations for those who confirm their attendance.
The event is being hailed as a significant celebration of the interconnected diversity within the Indian-American community. Attendees will include a wide array of religious and linguistic communities, reflecting India's rich cultural heritage. In addition to PM Modi's address, the program will feature cultural performances and appearances by prominent Indian-Americans in business, science, entertainment, and the arts, as per PTI reports.
The event holds special significance as it comes 10 years after Modi's landmark address at Madison Square Garden in New York in 2014, shortly after he first assumed office. The upcoming event also follows the 2019 'Howdy Modi' rally in Houston, Texas, where the Prime Minister shared the stage with former President Donald Trump.
Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to address the high-level United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session on September 26, according to a provisional list of speakers released by the UN. This marks another significant moment for Modi, who recently began his third term as India's Prime Minister.
The high-level General Debate of the 79th session of the UNGA will take place from September 24 to 30. Ahead of this, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is set to convene the Summit of the Future, a high-level event aimed at forging a new international consensus on global challenges, from September 20-23, as per media reports. World leaders will gather to adopt the Pact for the Future, which includes a Global Digital Compact and a Declaration on Future Generations.
This event, coupled with PM Modi's upcoming UNGA address, highlights the enduring significance of India's role on the global stage and its deepening ties with the United States.
