PM Modi Sends Best Wishes To Joe Biden After Aggressive Prostate Cancer Diagnosis

Following the announcement that former US President Joe Biden had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that had spread to his bones, Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent his warmest regards for a speedy recovery.

Prime Minister Modi said, "Very concerned to hear about Joe Biden's health," in a message that was shared on X. Send him our warmest regards for a speedy and complete recovery. We are thinking of Dr. Jill Biden and her family.

PM Modi Sends Best Wishes to Joe Biden After Aggressive Prostate Cancer Diagnosis

After Biden reported worsening urine symptoms, a prostate nodule was discovered, leading to the diagnosis, according to an official statement from his office. A high-grade malignancy with a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5), which indicates that the disease has migrated to the bone, was confirmed by medical testing.

"A prostate nodule was found during President Joe Biden's evaluation last week after he began exhibiting worsening urine problems. He received a prostate cancer diagnosis on Friday, May 16, with a Gleason score of nine and signs of bone metastases, according to the statement.

The malignancy is said to be hormone-sensitive, which enables potentially successful therapy despite the gravity of the diagnosis. In order to determine the best course of therapy going ahead, the 82-year-old former president and his family are currently seeking advice from medical experts.

"The cancer seems to be hormone-sensitive, which enables effective management, even though this is a more aggressive form of the disease," the statement continued. "The President is discussing treatment options with his doctors and his family."

Meanwhile, on May 20, CNN's Jake Tapper and Axios' Alex Thompson will publish their new book, "Original Sin: President Biden's Decline, Its Cover-Up, and His Disastrous Choice to Run Again." The book provides fresh perspectives on Biden's team's internal worries on his health deterioration in the latter years of his presidency.

Biden's advisers discussed using a wheelchair if he had lasted into a second term, according to the book, which is based on more than 200 interviews, mostly with Democratic insiders following the 2024 election. However, it is said that political concerns led the campaign to downplay such steps.

According to CNN, which cited the book, Biden's doctor, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, cautioned that a fall might necessitate a wheelchair and a protracted and challenging recuperation. White House personnel subtly modified Biden's surroundings to reduce these hazards, including erecting more railings, cutting down on walking routes, and choosing smaller steps for boarding Air Force One.

According to reports, the frequency of these concessions rose as Biden's mobility issues became more noticeable. Biden's decision to drop out of the race a few weeks later was greatly influenced by his lacklustre performance in the June 2024 debate against incumbent President Donald Trump, which brought his physical limitations into clearer perspective.
