PM Modi's two-day UAE visit to give new shape to relations: Indian envoy

Abu Dhabi, Aug 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-day visit to the UAE is likely to reshape the relation between both the nations, said Indian ambassador to UAE T.P. Seetharam.

"Several bilateral, regional and global issues would be covered in discussions at the highest levels between leaders of the two nations," said Seetharam.

"We already have an excellent bilateral relationship which has been nurtured over time. Our prime minister's visit is expected to result in transforming the relationship to a higher level," he said to Khaleej Times.

"We have been preparing for this historic visit for quite some time. All of us at the Embassy and the Consulate are working very hard to make it a very successful visit," Seetharam said.

"We are getting excellent cooperation from the UAE authorities and the Indian community to make the visit a memorable one. I am delighted that this long-awaited visit is happening during my term here as Ambassador of India," the envoy said.

India's ongoing talks with the Gulf countries on finalising a Free Trade Agreement are also expected to get a new kickstart with the PM Modi's visit.
