Upon his arrival, Modi expressed eagerness for his discussions with Biden, highlighting the importance of collaboration among like-minded nations. The Quad summit, which also includes Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, aims to strengthen cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region. During the summit, leaders will discuss pressing matters, including regional stability, ongoing conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza, and concerns related to the Global South.

Before departing for the U.S., Modi emphasized the Quad's role in fostering peace, progress, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific. "I look forward to joining my colleagues for the Quad Summit," he stated, underscoring the forum's commitment to collective action.

In addition to the summit, Modi's agenda includes addressing the 'Summit of the Future' at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, where he will advocate for a more inclusive global dialogue. He is also scheduled to meet with top CEOs from major American technology firms, aiming to enhance bilateral economic ties.

A highlight of Modi's trip will be the 'Modi & US' event on September 22, where he will connect with the Indian diaspora in New York. This mega event is expected to draw significant attention, showcasing the vibrant Indian community in the U.S.

As Modi prepares for these pivotal discussions, U.S. National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan emphasized that while issues related to China will be on the agenda, the focus of the Quad is not solely on one country. "The purpose of the Quad is to promote a free and open Indo-Pacific, not to unite against any particular nation," he noted.

Modi's visit represents a critical moment in U.S.-India relations, as both countries seek to address shared challenges and bolster their strategic partnership ahead of the upcoming changes in U.S. leadership.
