During his visit, bilateral talks were held with various world leaders on a broad range of issues. Prime Minister Modi held bilateral discussions with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, during which topics related to defence and security cooperation were addressed, with both leaders expressing hope for further enhancement in defence-industrial collaboration.

The invitation to attend the G7 Summit in Italy was extended to Prime Minister Modi by Prime Minister Meloni. This visit marked his first foreign trip after assuming the office of Prime Minister for the third term earlier this month.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs and quoted by PTI, "Bilateral defence and security cooperation were discussed by both sides, with an emphasis on further enhancing defence industrial collaboration." The forthcoming visit of the Italian aircraft carrier ITS Cavour and the training ship ITS Vespucci to India later this year was welcomed by both leaders.

The Italian Government was thanked by Prime Minister Modi for recognizing the Indian Army's contributions during the Italian Campaign in World War II, as reported by NDTV. He also informed that New Delhi would be upgrading the Yashwant Ghadge Memorial at Montone in Italy. Both leaders expressed satisfaction with the ongoing high-level political dialogue and reviewed the progress of the India-Italy Strategic Partnership.

Prime Minister Meloni congratulated Modi on his third consecutive term as Prime Minister. Modi thanked Meloni for the invitation to participate in the G7 Outreach Summit and conveyed his appreciation for the successful conclusion of the Summit. The G7, comprising the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Germany, Canada, and Japan, is currently under the presidency of Italy, which is hosting the summit in this capacity.
