PM Modi Gifts 7.5 Carat Green Diamond To Jill Biden: 7 Things To Know
Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is on a 3-day state visit to the United States presented special gifts from India to President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden.
PM Modi thoughtfully gifted Biden with a rare first edition print of The Ten Principal Upanishads, recognising the leader's profound admiration for Irish poet William Butler Yeats. 'The Ten Principal Upanishads', is an English translation of the Hindu religious text by Irish poet Yeats and Shri Purohit Swami.

The prime minister also presented a special sandalwood box to US President Joe Biden that has been handcrafted by a master craftsman from Jaipur, Rajasthan. The sandalwood sourced from Mysore, Karnataka has intricately carved flora and fauna patterns.
In 1937, WB Yeats published an English translation of the Indian Upanishads, co-authored with Shri Purohit Swami. The translation and collaboration between the two authors occurred throughout 1930s and it was one of the final works of Yeats.
Apart from the long list of gifts PM Modi offered to the Bidens, the one that is much talked about is the Green diamond ring that Prime Minister Modi gifted to Jill Biden.
