PM Modi's Agenda at G20 Summit
During his stay in Brazil, Modi will participate as a member of the G20 Troika, which includes India, Brazil, and South Africa. Notable leaders like Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Joe Biden will also be present at the summit. The discussions are expected to focus on global issues and cooperation among nations.
In a statement before departing for Brazil, Modi highlighted India's contributions to the G20. He said, "This year, Brazil has built upon India's legacy. I look forward to meaningful discussions in keeping with our vision of 'One Earth, One Family, One Future'. I will also use the opportunity to exchange views on furthering bilateral cooperation with several other leaders."
Upcoming Visit to Guyana
Following the summit in Brazil, Modi will travel to Guyana from November 19 to 21 at President Mohamed Irfaan Ali's invitation. This visit is significant as it marks the first time an Indian prime minister has visited Guyana in over five decades.
The induction of the African Union as a permanent member of the G20 was a notable achievement during India's presidency last year. Additionally, India managed to produce a leaders' declaration despite deep divisions over the Ukraine conflict.
