Philippines: 4 killed in 7.2-magnitude quake

on Tuesday morning. Buildings and property were also damaged in the quake, authorities said. The epicentre of the earthquake was 56 kilometres deep below Carmen town on Bohol Island and the impact was felt across the region.

Report of the deaths came from nearby Cebu city where a fish port partially collapsed. Nineteen people were also injured after the roof of a market in Cebu province caved in, said TV reports.

One person was injured in Tagbilaran, the capital of Bohol province. People rushed out of their residences, offices and other establishments as the aftershocks continued.

The Philippines, located along the Pacific 'Rim of Fire', are often hit by earthquakes.
