Peshawar attack: Students, staff return as school reopens
Peshawar, Jan 12: Almost a month after Taliban militants stormed into the Army Public School in Peshawar killing 150 students and teachers, the school reopened on Monday, Jan 12.
Students and staff of the school were seen returning back after Taliban gunmen claimed innocent lives on Dec 16. It was one of the deadliest attacks that Peshawar witnessed.
Schools in Pakistan asked to enhance security before reopening
Schools across the country were re-opening after an extended break prompted by the attack on Dec 16.
A ceremony is expected to be held at the school, but classes are not expected to be held until later this week. The school reopened amidst tight security. Meanwhile, the structure of the school has been renovated while the cleansing work has also been completed, said sources.
The incident horrified parents across the nation and prompted officials to implement tighter security at school premises across the country.
