Pakistani Leader Praises Rahul Gandhi's Speech; BJP Hits Out

Former Pakistan minister Ch Fawad Hussain on Wednesday hailed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's speech, garnering a strong reaction from the ruling BJP.

In a post on X, Ch Fawad Hussain shared a video and said, "Rahul on fire ...." In the said video, we can hear Rahul Gandhi's speech, targeting the BJP. It was his remarks about not inviting the OBC leaders for 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony.

When a BJP supporter asked him why he was promoting Rahul Gandhi, he shot back saying, "Because I oppose extremists and hate mongers be it in Pak or India or elsewhere and Modi and BJP are the people who should be opposed by everyone with conscience, btw I get same reaction from Muslim fundos...."

In the follow up post, he claimed that "threat to freedom anywhere is threat to freedom everywhere."

Amit Malviya, in-charge of BJP's National Information & Technology Department, slammed the Congress and questioned whether the party is planning to contest the polls in Pakistan.

He said, "Ch Fawad Hussain, who served in the Imran Khan cabinet, as Minister for Information and Broadcasting, is promoting Rahul Gandhi. Is the Congress planning to contest election in Pakistan? From a manifesto, that has imprints of the Muslim league to a ringing endorsement, from across the border, Congress's dalliance with Pakistan can't get more obvious."

BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala criticised the Congress, accusing it of defending terrorists.

He wrote, "Pakistani leader - someone who has spewed venom against Bharat is promoting Rahul & Congress. Earlier Hafiz Saeed had said Congress is his favourite party.. Mani Aiyer went to Pakistan for support to depose PM Modi! We remember Pakistan Zindabad slogans were raised recently by Congress leaders & BK Hariprasad openly batted for Pak.

A day ago, Maria Alam Khan, Samajwadi leader and niece of former Union Minister Salman Khurshid, triggered a controversy after calling Muslims to unite against the BJP by appealing for "vote Jihad". The incident is reported from Uttar Pradesh's Farrukhabad.

She was seeking votes for the Samajwadi Party candidate Naval Kishore Shakya when she said, "...Come together and do vote jihad. Only vote jihad can stop the BJP. It deeply saddens me to hear that some Muslim men helped Mukesh Rajput conduct a meeting here. I feel society should stop their bread and butter.
