In a resolute statement, Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari declared that Pakistan will retaliate against any force that dares to enter its borders with malicious intent and commit acts of terror. This declaration came in the wake of a terrorist attack in the restive North Waziristan region that claimed the lives of seven brave Pakistan Army personnel, including a Lieutenant Colonel and a Captain.

Zardari Attends Funeral of Fallen Soldiers

President Zardari attended the funeral prayer of the two martyred officers, paying homage to their supreme sacrifice. The funeral was also attended by high-ranking military and civilian officials, including the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Chief of Army Staff, Foreign Minister, and Interior Minister.

Zardari emphasized that Pakistan will respond strongly to any individual or group that attempts to breach its borders, homes, or country with terrorist intentions. He vowed that the blood of fallen soldiers will not be shed in vain and that Pakistan will hold accountable those responsible for such heinous acts.

Hafiz Gul Bahadur Group Claims Responsibility

The banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) group led by Hafiz Gul Bahadur claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing at the military post. This group is considered one of the most formidable militant organizations in North Waziristan. Bahadur had previously fled to Afghanistan following Operation Zarb-e-Azb in 2014.

Initial Intrusion Attempt Foiled

The Pakistan Army revealed that an initial attempt by terrorists to infiltrate an Army installation was thwarted in the early hours of Saturday. However, a group of six terrorists managed to ram an explosives-laden vehicle into the installation, resulting in the tragic loss of lives.

Pakistan's resolute stance against terrorism and its commitment to protecting its borders and citizens from external threats were made clear by President Zardari's strong statement.
