Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif Directs Pak Army To Respond To India's 'Operation Sindoor'
The Pakistani administration asked its military forces to retaliate against India's surgical strikes, named 'Operation Sindoor'. These strikes were India's response to the terror incident in Pahalgam, aiming at terrorist strongholds within Pakistan and its controlled Kashmir. This move comes nearly two weeks post the Pahalgam attack, marking a significant escalation in tensions between the two nations. The operation targeted terror camps across the Line of Control (LoC), specifically avoiding Pakistani military installations, showcasing India's attempt to focus solely on dismantling terrorist infrastructure without provoking further military conflict.
In a detailed briefing, Prime Minister Narendra Modi acquainted his cabinet with the specifics of 'Operation Sindoor'. He depicted the strikes as a pivotal moment of national pride, receiving backing from political figures across various parties. This collective endorsement underlines the operation's significance in India's stance against terrorism emanating from neighboring territories. The operation's precise execution, aimed at terror launchpads and camps, reflects a strategic approach to counter-terrorism without escalating to a wider military engagement.

Pakistan's government has staunchly refuted any involvement in the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22, which resulted in the tragic loss of 26 tourists in Jammu and Kashmir. Despite this denial, a faction associated with the Pakistan-supported Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) claimed responsibility for the attack. In a counter-move, Pakistan's National Security Committee, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, convened to denounce India's actions as an unjustifiable act of aggression. The committee's statement highlighted Pakistan's consistent rejection of India's accusations regarding the harboring of terrorist camps on its soil and reiterated its previous offer for a comprehensive investigation into the matter, which India had not accepted.
In a statement, the Pakistani government labeled the Indian strikes as an "unprovoked, cowardly and unlawful act of war," asserting that the targeted areas were civilian rather than militant. It underscored its entitlement to defend itself "at a time, place, and manner of its choosing," having already authorized its armed forces to prepare for any retaliatory measures necessary. This stance reflects Pakistan's vehement opposition to the allegations and its readiness to engage in defensive actions as deemed appropriate.
In response to India's military action, Pakistan called upon an Indian diplomat, handing over a formal protest note. Information Minister Ataullah Tarar vehemently stated Pakistan's right to retaliate against the Indian strikes. He cautioned India against underestimating Pakistan's capacity to respond, signaling a heightened state of readiness for possible countermeasures. This diplomatic exchange underscores the escalating tension between the two nations, with both sides exhibiting a firm stance on their respective security and sovereignty.
