Pakistan market blast kills 3

Islamabad, June 24: At least three people were killed and 28 others, including women and children, injured in a major explosion in Pakistan's Balochistan province on Friday, June 24 the media reported.

The dead and injured, all passers-by and shopkeepers, were taken to the Civil Hospital Quetta. At least three people were in critical condition.

According to Deputy Inspector General Police Chaudhary Manzoor, around five kg of explosives were used in the blast whose impact damaged windows and walls of nearby shops and homes.

"All the victims are civilians. A major aim of the terrorists is to create panic among the people," Manzoor said.
