Pakistan Condemns Iran's Airspace Violation, Warns of Consequences
Pakistan strongly condemned Irans violation of its airspace, with Tehran claiming to have targeted militant group bases. Pakistan warned of serious consequences and summoned the Iranian charge daffaires.
Pakistan has strongly condemned Iran's violation of its airspace, which resulted in the targeting of two bases belonging to the Jaish al-Adl militant group. The incident has raised concerns and tensions in the region, particularly in light of the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.
Iran's Attack on Pakistan

On Tuesday, Iran launched attacks in Pakistan, targeting what it claimed to be bases for the militant group. This action has the potential to escalate tensions in the region, which is already grappling with the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip. The attack followed similar Iranian strikes in Iraq and Syria.
Pakistan's Response
In response to the violation, Pakistan summoned the Iranian charge d'affaires to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to convey its strongest condemnation. The Foreign Office of Pakistan described Iran's actions as an unprovoked violation of its airspace and sovereignty. The attack resulted in the deaths of two children and injuries to three others, according to reports.
Concerns and Consequences
Pakistan expressed deep concern over the incident, emphasizing that such unilateral acts are not in line with good neighbourly relations and can seriously undermine bilateral trust and confidence. The Foreign Office highlighted the existence of established channels of communication between Pakistan and Iran and stressed that the responsibility for any consequences will lie squarely with Iran.
Jaish al-Adl and Regional Implications
Jaish al-Adl, the target of Iran's attack, is a Sunni militant group operating primarily in Pakistan. While Iran has engaged in border clashes with the group, a missile-and-drone attack on Pakistan marks an unprecedented escalation. Pakistan emphasized that terrorism poses a common threat to all countries in the region and requires coordinated action rather than unilateral acts.
Pakistan's condemnation of Iran's airspace violation reflects the seriousness with which it views such actions. The incident has the potential to further strain relations between the two countries and exacerbate tensions in the region. It underscores the need for diplomatic efforts and dialogue to address these issues and promote regional stability.
