Pakistan denies prior information about Bin Laden, US raid
Islamabad, May 14: Rejecting claims made by the American investigative journalist Seymour Hersh, Pakistan foreign office has said that it was not aware about presence of Osama bin Laden and raid carried out by US commando, media reported.
US Navy Seal commando killed Osama bin Laden in a raid carried out May 2, 2011 in Abbottabad.
"Pakistan also did not know about presence of Osama bin Laden in Abbottabad," Dawn online reported citing Foreign Office spokesman Qazi Khalilullah as saying.
Seymour Hersh claims that the US got to Osama bin Laden with Pakistan's help, but disclosed the operation in a manner that made the country look like a villain.
Islamabad blames India for terror in Pakistan
In a story published in the London Review of Books on Sunday, Hersh described the official US version of the so-called "Operation Neptune Spear" as a work of fiction, a fairy-tale.
US has also refuted Hersh's claim that CIA and other US agencies collaborated with the Pakistani military to kill bin Laden.
