Pakistan blames India of politicizing UNSC Sanctions Committee

Islamabad, June 25: Pakistan has blamed India of trying to politicize the United Nations Security Council's (UNSC) Sanctions Committee by making baseless allegations against Pakistan.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Qazi Khalilullah was quoted as saying during weekly news briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, Radio Pakistan reported.

Pak blames India of politicizing UNSC

"The latest complaint by India against Pakistan was discussed in one of the regular meetings of the Sanctions Committee on purely technical ground and the committee decided not to take any action on the Indian allegations," he added.

China blocked India's move in the UN demanding action against Pakistan over release of Mumbai attack mastermind and LeT commander Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi in violation of a resolution of the world body as it contended that India provided insufficient information.

He said Pakistan therefore rejects any insinuations and politically motivated moves and attempts that question its commitment to the UN Security Council's decisions.

He said Pakistan in fact supports and respects the decisions of the Security Council while India on the other hand is in open violation of its various resolutions particularly relating to Jammu and Kashmir dispute.

The spokesperson said Pakistan is fully complying with its international obligations with regards to implementation of these sanctions.
