Pak raises Kashmir issue at UNHRC in Geneva
Islamabad, Sep 26: Pakistan today raised the Kashmir issue at the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva alleging that there was no right to peaceful assembly and no freedom of religion or expression in the Valley.
Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN in Geneva Tehmina Janjua told the Human Rights Council that "there is a general curfew over a major part of Kashmir", Foreign Office said in a statement here.

"There is no right to peaceful assembly and association and no freedom of religion or expression" in Kashmir, she claimed.
She also alleged that there is "arbitrary detention" and "extra judicial killings and torture" in the valley. Janjua said that India should acknowledge that the "only solution to the Jammu & Kashmir issue is a free, fair and impartial plebiscite that has been assured to the Kashmiri people by UN Security Council resolutions, it added.
