Pak Minister Threatens India With Nuclear Retaliation Over Suspending Indus Water Treaty: 'All Aimed At You'

In a dramatic escalation of tensions, Pakistan's Minister Hanif Abbasi has openly threatened India with nuclear retaliation, warning that Pakistan's missile arsenal - including the Ghori, Shaheen, and Ghaznavi missiles, along with 130 nuclear warheads - has been maintained "only for India".

Abbasi stated that if India dares to halt Pakistan's water supply by suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, it should "prepare for a full-scale war".

He emphasised that Pakistan's nuclear weapons are not merely for show and that their locations remain concealed across the country, ready for deployment if provoked.

"If they stop the water supply to us, then they should be ready for a war. The military equipment we have, the missiles we have, they're not for display. Nobody knows where we have placed our nuclear weapons across the country. I say it again, these ballistic missiles, all of them are targeted at you," he warned.

His comments followed India's announcement of a series of countermeasures against Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives.

In response, India declared its decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty of 1960 and revoke all visas issued to Pakistani nationals.

Mocking India's actions to suspend water supply and sever trade ties with Pakistan, Abbasi remarked that New Delhi was beginning to comprehend the grave consequences of its moves.

Citing the disruption caused when Pakistan closed its airspace to Indian flights, he highlighted the chaos it triggered in Indian aviation within merely two days.

"If things were to continue like this for another 10 days, the airlines in India would go bankrupt," Abbasi said.

The minister further criticised India, accusing it of shifting the blame onto Pakistan for the Pahalgam terror attack instead of addressing its own security lapses.

He asserted that Pakistan had already begun preparing for the repercussions following India's decision to cut trade links, indicating that Islamabad was fully prepared to counter any economic measures taken against it.

Abbasi's remarks followed a series of bold admissions made by Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif only days earlier.

In an interview, Asif acknowledged that Pakistan had supported and trained terrorist groups for the "last three decades", but attempted to shift responsibility onto the United States and Western nations, including Britain.

"We have been doing this dirty work for the US and the West, including Britain, for three decades," Asif said. He added that this course of action had been a grave error for which Pakistan had paid dearly.

"If we had not joined the war against the Soviet Union and later on, following the 9/11 attacks, Pakistan would have an unimpeachable track record," Asif explained.

Asif also courted controversy by accusing India of "staging" the Pahalgam terror attack, which resulted in 26 fatalities, with the aim of provoking a regional crisis against Pakistan.

He further claimed that Lashkar-e-Taiba no longer exists and that he had never heard of The Resistance Front, the group blamed for the Pahalgam assault.

"Lashkar is an old name. It does not exist... Our government has condemned it (Pahalgam attack) categorically," Asif insisted.
