Over 2,000 raids, 210 detained since Paris attacks
Paris, Dec 1: French police have carried out more than 2,000 raids without judicial warrants and detained 210 people since a state of emergency was enforced in the wake of the November 13 Paris attacks.
French Prime Minister Manuel Valls on Tuesday told Europe 1 radio station that police have seized 320 weapons during the raids, EFE news reported.

He pointed out that more than 250 lawsuits have been started, which proved in his view that such raids were not carried out "by chance" but were related to "objective suspicions".
The current state of emergency was declared at 11.00 p.m. (local time) on November 13 right after the attacks at six different locations in capital Paris which resulted in the death of 129 people.
Initially it was imposed only in the metropolitan territories and Corsica, but it was later extended to include French territories overseas.
On November 20, French parliament endorsed the extension of the state of emergency until February 26, next year.
