Over 1,000 Injured In Hezbollah Pager Explosion: Major Security Breach In Lebanon
On Tuesday, a series of explosions involving communication pagers used by Hezbollah fighters and medics resulted in over 1,000 injuries across Lebanon.
Among those hurt was Iran's Ambassador to Lebanon, Mojtaba Amani, as reported by Iran's Mehr news agency.

Over 1,000 Injured In Hezbollah Pager Explosion
Hezbollah described the incident as the "biggest security breach" it has faced during nearly a year of conflict with Israel. The group has labelled the explosions as an "Israeli breach" of its communication systems, although there was no immediate response from the Israeli military.
The explosions, which lasted around an hour, began at approximately 3:45 p.m. local time (1345 GMT). Reports indicate that wireless communication devices, including handheld pagers, were detonated across Lebanon, particularly in Beirut's southern suburbs. Footage released by Iranian media showed scenes of explosions in a grocery store and a market area.
Hassan Wazni, head of the Nabatieh public hospital in southern Lebanon, reported that around 40 injured individuals were being treated for various injuries, including to the face, eyes, and limbs. The Lebanese Red Cross deployed over 50 ambulances and 300 emergency medical staff to assist with the evacuation and treatment of victims.
The incident occurs amid ongoing cross-border warfare between Hezbollah and Israel, which has intensified since the Gaza conflict began last October. Both sides have engaged in constant exchanges of fire, leading to widespread displacement on both sides of the border.
