Nobel-winning US mathematician John Nash, who inspired A Beautiful Mind, dies in crash
New Jersey. May 24: Nobel-winning American mathematician John Forbes Nash, whose life story was turned into Oscar-winning film A Beautiful Mind, died in a car crash on Sunday, local media said.
Eighty-six-year-old Nash was travelling in a taxi with his wife Alicia when it met the accident. The latter was also killed. It is believed that the duo was not wearing seatbelts when the accident happened.

Nash is famous for his work in game theory. He won the Nobel Prize in Economics in 1994.
In the award-winning film, Nash's breakthroughs in mathematics and his fight against schizophrenia were the focus.
Russel Crowe, who played Nash in the film, expressed his shock over the deaths of Nash and Alicia.
