“No Kings” Movement Rallies Nationwide as Protesters Challenge Trump Agenda

Large demonstrations organised under the "No Kings" banner took place across the United States and in several international cities on March 29, with participants protesting against policies of Donald Trump, particularly the administration's immigration crackdown and the ongoing conflict involving Iran.

Organisers said the coordinated protests were one of the biggest mobilisations by the movement so far. Events were planned in more than 3,200 locations across all 50 US states, ranging from major marches in metropolitan areas to smaller gatherings in towns and rural communities.

Thousands of demonstrators gathered in cities such as Washington, Los Angeles, Dallas, Philadelphia, and New York City. Protesters carried banners and placards supporting democratic values while criticising immigration enforcement measures and the United States' role in the conflict involving Iran.

The demonstrations were not limited to the US. Solidarity protests were reported in European capitals including London, Paris, and Rome, where participants voiced concern about the war in Iran and broader political developments linked to US foreign policy.

A prominent rally took place at the state Capitol in Saint Paul, drawing participants from across the region. American rock musician Bruce Springsteen also appeared at the event, performing for the crowd and expressing support for the movement.

Most gatherings remained peaceful, although isolated incidents were reported. Authorities used tear gas near a federal detention facility in Los Angeles after tensions escalated, while several arrests were made in Dallas following confrontations between protesters and counter-protesters.

Republican leaders criticised the protests, describing them as politically driven. Organisers, however, said the turnout reflected growing public concern over immigration policies, civil liberties and the escalating conflict with Iran, adding that the demonstrations aimed to influence public debate ahead of future elections.
